All About the Redhead

Welcome to done and done, my little corner of the internet.

My name is Caitlin, and I'm a singing, dancing, acting, writing, cooking, traveling, reading, nerdy red-headed girl from Florida. I attended FSU as a Voice Performance major, but after two years of being told that I wasn't good enough to continue on with my training, I got burned out on music and tried being an Anthropology major. Unfortunately, I'm really interested in Archaeology (the study of the things in the ground, not the people they were once connected to) and Paleontology (dinosaurs!) I was so burned out of being in school at this point -- not to mention the fact that my scholarships were only for four years -- that starting over to get a Biology degree to do what I thought I really might want to do didn't seem like an option. So, I struggled through a bout of depression (follow my parents divorce, second half of Sophomore year) during my Junior year, while working two jobs, and finished out the final two years as a general music major, with a voice principal and focused on not completely destroying my GPA.

I sang with the award-winning co-ed a cappella group on campus, All-Night Yahtzee, which is one of the things that helped me find my passion for singing, music and the arts in general again. It was the best part of my college experience and I gained some of my best friends through this whole new world (cue Aladdin soundtrack.)

After graduating, I moved to Boston. Everything was great for a while, until I started struggling to make ends meet and got into an emotionally abusive relationship. I managed to get myself out of that relationship and into a relationship with my current boyfriend, Nate, aka the nicest boy in the whole world, booboo, booshka, etc. I slowly pulled myself out of my emotional and financial instabilities with his help. For this I am and always will be eternally grateful.

Nate and I both love to travel (we went to Aruba on a whim in the first three months of dating,) and a running joke between us was that we were just going to move to Hawaii. Until it became not a joke, and we decided to just do it! And to get there, we were going to take a road trip across the US to visit friends and family. We left April 18th, 2010 and our car promptly broke down and needed a new engine. So we waited in New Hampshire for five weeks. Along with this setback, we drove through the southern US in the middle of summer with no air conditioning (after attempting to fix it four times,) lost brake-lines in Kanab, UT, and had a leaky tent.

Long story short, we ran out of money right about the time we got to nothern California. So instead of trying to get us, all our stuff and our car to Hawaii, we decided to keep heading north and check out Seattle. So, here we are, working, playing, singing a cappella and trying to get our feet back under us so we can eventually get to our destination!
