Plenty to be THANKful for: Swap Reveal!

I'm a little late, but I've been running around all day getting as many appointments out of the way as possible. I had the dentist tell me I need a filling on a tooth that previously was filled (boo,) and I'm currently still waiting for my eyes to be fully un-dialated. It's very annoying.

But aaaaaaaanyway, the big reveal!

My swap partner was Krystal from It's Krystal...with a K. She was awesome! I got my package on Saturday and opened it IMMEDIATELY.

Goodies include:
-Awesome comfy throw
-Cool socks and scarf
-Peppermint Candies (nom)
-Pumpkin Pie Spice Coffee!
-Nifty pair of tumblers
-fancy reusable straw with lid

Awesome, awesomeness. I loved getting to know about Krystal via email (we are both over-users of exclamation points ;) and getting to send her some gifts! Plus, I have a cool new blog to read =)

Plenty to be THANKful for: Black Friday & Leftovers

I'm writing this on Saturday, not Friday, but Friday kind of got away from me. We got home from shopping, made food and then immediately made pumpkin pies. All while watching TiMER (actually -- a cool movie. I'd recommend seeing it!)

Also, I don't have any leftovers. We ate out, and then by the time we got home and sat around for a while, I was hungry again. So I ate my leftovers. Oops!

Black Friday haul includes:

Victoria's Secret Bras & Undies -- not pictured. Sorry, some things are still private in my world ;)

But we spent $65, so I got this tote with goodies inside!

Awesome tote!

Body mist and lotion, plus perfume and makeup primer samples!

A couple things from Forever21:

Comfy slippers -- because my bunnies are looking a little nasty.

Fabulous cape/hoodie thing. So comfy. I'm never taking it off.

Very exciting things from Office Depot: printer cartridges, printer paper and a three-hole punch.

And...

iPhone 4S! In White, with a leopard print case.

It's fancy. I thought I was going to have to wait until January to get a new one, because that's when my contract was up, but when we went into the AT&T store to ask some question about Nate getting his, they informed me I was eligible for an upgrade now! So, then I batted my eyelashes at Nate and we decided to get them.

I think for my birthday, I'm going to get this Star Trek case I've been eyeing...but I'm not sure.

I do love leopard!

Plenty to be THANKful for: Thanksgiving Traditions

This isht is about to get real, y'all.

I don't have any Thanksgiving traditions.

...unless you count eating Thanksgiving dinner with family.

But that's kind of what the holiday is all about, so....

See how awesome I am? I don't need no stinking traditions!

...ugh. I kind of hate myself right now.

Ok, so now I need suggestions for Thanksgiving traditions. Maybe I'll start one this year.

WAIT: I know what my family's Thanksgiving tradition is.

Saying we aren't going out for Black Friday shopping and then doing it anyway. At, like 9am.

Even though we said we were going to sleep in.

As always, link up with Meghan!

Plenty to be THANKful for: My Favorite Thanksgiving Recipe

Ok, so I'm not going to lie: I don't really have recipes for Thanksgiving. The one (and only) time I have cooked an entire Thanksgiving dinner, by my lonesome, was last year. It went something like this:

  • Turkey in a Bag from the grocery store
  • Mashed Potatoes (I did buy actual potatoes and boil and mash them. With cream cheese and italian seasoning. Mmmm.)
  • Mashed Sweet Potatoes (also bought actual potatoes and boiled and mashed, with cinnamon sugar and butter!)
  • Stuffing from a Bag (not StoveTop, the blue bag stuff...I don't remember what the brand is.)
  • Those rolls with the flour dusted on top. SO NOMMY.
  • Sweet Baby Carrots (boiled baby carrots, smothered in honey and butter)
Nate made:
  • Green Bean Casserole (from the back of the French Onion container)
  • Pumpkin Pies (from the back of the Libby's can)
We did make EggNog from scratch. Does that count?

We also drank wine.

So...we are not really recipe people. I'm all about the traditional food. My family never made green bean casserole, and normally our rolls were the frozen yeasty kind in the circular tin. The focus was on fresh vegetables. We'd usually have potatoes, steamed green beans and squash. And pie. Lots and lots of pumpkin pie.

It's the best part.

For me, Thanksgiving is about the people. Hanging with family. Eating at noon and at five. And snacking the whole day.

And then shopping on Friday!

Plenty to be THANKful for: The Blogoverse!

(a little back-dating never hurt anyone)

I am thankful for the Blogoverse!

Living in Seattle, knowing no one, has been hard for me. Most of my friends are on East Coast time, so they're up three hours before me and go to bed three hours before me.

I have met so, so, SO many wonderful people who I chat with on Twitter and whose blogs I never miss.

For that I am thankful =)

Plenty to be THANKful for: My Hometown!

Oh, my hometown. Tallahassee, FL. I guess I have it a little different than other people, because I lived in my hometown until I graduated college. I have a love/hate relationship with Tallahassee. There are so. many. memories:

Shows with my theatre. (this is Footloose)

Going to Prom!

Tea parties with friends...sophomore year of college.

Dinners at the Melting Pot.

Making cakes for my sister's birthday.

Afternoons at Lake Ella.

Dancing at Waterworks.

Yearly visits to the Junior Museum.

Being with Yahtzee!

not to mention...

The beautiful old capitol building.

The new capitol building, which looks like a...
well...you tell me what it looks like. =P

The Tennessee St. Strip --
right across from the School of Music!

My high school on the hill.
(relatedly, our parking lot at the bottom of the hill getting completely flooded.
The water came up through the floor of my car! Flash flood, y'all!)

Dancing at AJ's, late-night Wal-Mart runs, parties at the Backyard and the Treehouse. Working at my Dad's store.

Tallahassee is a lot of things, but it will always be my hometown.

Thankful for Guilty Pleasures (Thanksgiving Challenge!)

Thankgiving Challenge! You can get a list of topics and link up over at The Perfect Compliation Tape!

Today's topic? Guilty Pleasures!

Isn't it funny how guilty pleasures can be anything and everything, so long as you feel some sort of shame associated with them? I think that's what makes them so awesome! I, for one, am very rarely ashamed of my guilty pleasures. Does that make them no longer guilty pleasures?

ANYWHO...

I'm (guiltily) thankful for...

big sunglasses

hats that look like animals

true life on MTV
(i am NOT ashamed!)

backstreet boys
(specifically 'i want it that way')

Pinterest...obv

Any of the same guilty pleasures?
Anything you'd, literally, never own up to?
