a wizard from the starship enterprise

I may or may not be listening to The Book of Mormon for the first time. It's kind of hilarious.

In any case, I've seen a couple blogs today that have been doing 'typical day' post (which apparently came from RambleRamble.) I thought I'd give it a go, even though my days are typically very mundane.

6:33AM: First alarm goes off. It wakes me up, I turn it off, roll over and go to sleep.

6:43AM: Second alarm goes off. I don't hear it and turn it off in my sleep.

Sometime between 6:54 and 7:02AM: I wake up wondering what time it is.

7:03AM: Third alarm goes off. I turn it off, pick up my phone and try to check my emails through half-lidded eyes. Usually they are all crap or freebies. Delete the crap, keep the freebies for later.

7:05-7:15AM: Poke Nathan to tell him it's time to get up. He's a heavy sleeper, so my quick alarm turn-offs don't wake him up.

7:15-7:20AM: Contemplate getting up. Take time to think about how lovely the bed with its $300 memory foam topper (that we scored for $80) is.

7:21AM: Ok, crap, now it's actually have to get up. Let the kitten in the bedroom because Nathan has fallen back asleep and her pouncing on his face will be funny actually wake him up.

7:22-7:30AM: Go to the bathroom, brush hair, put in contacts and generally make self look vaguely presentable.

7:30-7:35AM: Try to get dressed while the kitten darts around the bedroom like a crazyface. Nathan is probably just now getting up. Contemplate wearing something nice; usually wind up in dress pants and a t-shirt with a tank layered underneath. And flipflops.

7:35-7:40AM: Put coffee and fixings in to-go mugs. Grab lunchbag from the fridge. Decide if I want anything else I've forgotten to put in there previously. Fill water bottle with water or "juice" (which can be anything from coconut water to crystal light, depending on the day -- though it's very rarely actually juice.)

7:40-7:44AM: Put everything for the day into my bag: Wallet, work-appropriate shoes (that I don't usually put on, even though I bring them,) keys, lunchbag, various drinks, phone, headphones, sunglasses, cardigan/jacket (if I'm not wearing it,) gum. Chapstick. Extra hair tie. I think that's it.

7:44-7:46AM: Try and decide if I care enough to put on mascara and/or if I want my hair down or in a ponytail. (Usually the answers are no and yes, respectively.)

7:46-8:00AM: Walk briskly to work.

8:00AM-12:00PM: Work. Usually this means be on the internet until the phone rings or somebody brings me something to do. Or I decide I shouldn't put off the things I already have to do any longer.

12:00-1:00PM: Lunchtime! If it's a weekday and there's nice weather, I meet Nate and walk home. If it's not nice weather, I'll usually bring lunch with me and eat in the breakroom. Sometimes I beg ask real nice and we go out to lunch. Usually on Friday.

1:00-5:00PM: Back to work.

5:00-5:20PM: Walk home. This involves meeting Nate outside his place of work and walking the last 7ish minutes together. Sometimes, if we need dinner stuff, we'll stop at the grocery store that's right across from his work and get that, so it takes us a little longer to get home.

5:20-6:00PM: Piddle around, get dressed in gym clothes, play with the cat, go online, prep for dinner, etc. etc. etc...

6:00-7:30PM: Go to gym. This can be anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. This can also be completely pushed off the table if someone calls or IMs to offer happy-hour festivities.

7:30-8:30/45PM: Prepare and nosh on dinner. Sometimes we eat in front of the television (if there's something particularly good on,) or we eat at our bar-height two-top. We're fancy like that.

8:45PM-10PM: Piddle around some more. Watch TV, be online. Take a shower. Play with the cat.

10-10:30/45PM: Fix lunch and/or snacks for the next day. Prep coffee machine to start brewing at 7AM the next morning. Decide if dessert is in order. Contemplate running the dishwasher about every other day.

10:45-11:45PM: I read. Or play on the computer if I haven't gotten my fix of that. Nathan usually gets ready for bed or continues being on the computer and/or watching TV and riling up the cat so that she can't sleep with us.

12ish: Sleepy time!

Typing this all out makes it seem super boring. I'm a cool person, I swear!

Loved this! And I am jealous you are able to walk to work. And have a kitten. And go to happy hour. Your daily life sounds delightful.
