(My title is so clever, it rhymes! Ok, I'm really lame. It's fine, just go with it.)
So, I mentioned on Friday that we were going to lunch at BuiltBurger. For those of you not in the know (or not in Seattle, because I think that's the only place it exists,) BuiltBurger is a small lunch restaurant (they are open daily from 11 to 3) on James St. near Pioneer Square. The inside is very modern and clean -- they have a large fixed menu that includes beef, pork, chicken and lamb patties that have two kinds of ingredients: in and on. The "in" gredients are just that - mixed in with the meat in the patties. The "on" gredients come with the bun and may be consumed at your discretion. Here is the information about their meat from their website:
Aside from the main menu, they have a special menu that changes depending on what ingredients they have available and what the chefs come up with. The day we went, the specials included: 100% grass-fed angus beef and a proscuitto burger, with the proscuitto mixed into the pattie, and a breakfast pattie that came with a fried egg.
In addition to the burgers, they have sides: sweet potato fries, slaw, regular fries, salad, etc. The fries come with a dipping sauce of your choice. I'm not sure if those change, but when we went they were curry ketchup, sweet chili aioli, poblano cilantro and sweet and spicy mustard. These were kind of disappointing for me, because I don't like at least one thing in each of them: peppers, spice (ie: heat), mustard, curry, ketchup...I'm picky when it comes to sauces. I did try the curry ketchup, for kicks, and it tasted exactly like its namesake. Nate said the chili aioli was good and my co-worker, Brian, got the poblano cilantro and said it was excellent.
We waited about ten minutes for our burgers, which were delicious! You could taste the freshness of the meat, and they were cooked perfectly - all the way through, but still tender. The freshness of the meat rivaled the best burger I've ever had. I wound up getting a tasting plate of two sliders and a side. My sliders, which were of a decent size, were the Bacon Bleu Burger - blue cheese and bacon mixed into the pattie - and the Proscuitto Burger that I mentioned earlier. Both were very good -- I almost couldn't taste the roasted red peppers in the proscuitto burger (I ordered it knowing they were in there, but figured I'd taste my chances.) The sweet potato fries had an interesting seasoning on them - I couldn't quite tell what it was. Maybe a smokey bbq blend? They were delicious. Sweet potato fries are my favorite. Nate had the Spicy Pork Sandwich and it was gone by the time I looked back at his plate, so I'm guessing it was good!
I would definitely recommend this place if you are close enough for a lunch outing. And if not -- they are open for every Sounders game!
(p.s. If you wanna try a BuiltBurger but don't live in Seattle? They'll ship it to you! It's kind of costly, but totally worth it if all you have near you in fast food joints and chains.)
(p.s.s. BuiltBurger didn't pay me for this or nothin', I just liked their burgers!)

The Spicy Pulled Pork Burger was awesome. A Pulled Pork Sandwich + Juicy Fresh Beef Burger = happy Nate. It's going to be tough not to order it again the next time. But I've gotta try something new.
