we on a boat!

This weekend was the bomb (dot com?) Mostly it was Sunday that was aweomse, but Saturday was pretty good too. We got up late and got an awesome work out in -- 35 minutes of cardio and 40 minutes of strength. I was beat afterward, but it felt good while it was happening.

Sunday, my co-worker/friend Brian invited us to go out boating! Apparently one of the designers at work owns a small boat that he lets people just...use. Which is awesome.

We got off to a late start, and early in the day it was kind of cloudy, but while we were waiting for the boat to come pick us up, we hung out at Lake Union Park and had Starbucks. And watched Nate play High Noon (an iPhone game that involves shootouts like in the old west. Nate's avatar has a cowboy hat and a mustache.) He really gets into it:

*ooh-ee-ooh-ee-ooh*
"this town ain't big enough for the two of us!"
*tumbleweeds*

In any case, once we got to the boat it started to clear up some. We were taken on the "architectural tour" of Lake Washington -- aka the "holy sh*t these are ridiculously large houses" tour. We got to see things like Bill Gate's house (not pictured,) which is 1/3 outside the hill and 2/3 built into the hill, an archaeologist who has a full-scale T-REX INSIDEHISEHOUSEWTF, and a house shaped like a castle. All of the houses were beautiful, but so. very. large. They even had their own funiculars up and down the hill from the road. Ridiculous.

Castle House. With a turret.

T-Rex inside. No big deal.

Aside from the crazy-sized houses, we also got to see an abandoned sea plane somebody had in their yard (does anyone else call them float planes, or is that just me?) and a miniature horse that somebody had...in their yard.

de plane, de plane!

wtf, mate?

Then, Nate got to drive the boat. He drove fast. Notice his maniacal smile?

driving.

scared for my life.

All in all it was an awesome day. We had a dinner of sliders and crab rangoon at BluWater in Leschii before heading back to Lake Union. Before they dropped us off, we made friends with some geese.

They swam up to us in a line, so we fed them jalapeno chips until Nate informed us geese can't handle spicy foods. Then we fed them some more and waited around for a while to see if they keeled over. They didn't, so we figured we were in the clear. One had eyebrows, so we named him Ollie. I took a picture of him, but apparently my sister decided he wasn't important enough to put in her facebook album -- and that's where all these photos are from so...

We had lots of fun. Don't we look like we had fun?

fun.

Nate's beer that Liz held while he took a picture of us. Bottom's up!

At the end of the day, it cleared up enough to see most of Rainier from the water.

I think Rainier is my favorite mountain. It is totally bad ass.

What did you do over the weekend? Post Fourth of July fun?
(p.s. -- Naaaaaaaathan. Why is my signature no longer on a transparent background?)

I think the picture of Ollie was blurry. That would be why it wasn't posted.

3 Things:
1. I made up the line about geese not being able to handle spicy foods. hehehe :)
2. Why did we name a goose with eyebrows, Ollie?
3. I'll need to take a look at the code tonight, in regards to your sig. I downloaded the image and it still has a transparent bg, so I'm not sure what's going on.
